Dr. Sampathkumaran (Dr. Sam):

Dr. Sam received his Bachelors in Animal Science as well as one in Zoology from Rutger's University. He then attended the University of Prince Edward Island where he achieved his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.

Dr. Sam has owned the West Valley Veterinary Clinic since January of 2005. In addition to all of his duties and responsibilities here at the clinic, he is also a Captain in the Army Reserves. Veterinarians in the Army Reserves work with the Military Working Dogs, are responsible for food safety and are often called upon to help in humanitarian missions. In 2010 Dr. Sam was stationed in the middle east doing all of these.  We are very proud of him!

Dr Sam is a big believer in rescuing pets. He currently owns three rescues, a lab named Daisy, a poodle named Mimi, and one cat, Spice. We also work closely with rescue organizations such as Care 4 Paws and Papillon Haven Rescue to help with veterinary care for pets needing to find new forever homes. Sometimes we even have pets here at the clinic that we have rescued and are trying to find their forever home.
